There are two permanent museum exhibitions to be visited – one about the uprising in 1941 when the so-called Užice Republic was proclaimed, and the other about the history of the area from the earliest period.
Visitors can also see the art legacy part of the museum dedicated to painter Mihailo Milovanović.
The interesting fact is that during WWII the Partisan headquarters was situated in the museum building, while their production of arms and ammunition occupied the nearby basements.
