Not only that the famous Serbian 19th-century playwright and satirist Branislav Nušić to whom the Nušićijada Festival is dedicated, has never set his foot here, but Ivanjica was also known as being “at the end of the world” back then. The main character in one of Nušić’s plays is threatening her son in law that “he is bound for Ivanjica”. This gave locals the idea to bring Nušić himself ‘to the end of the world’ in a form of a festival.

This annual festival attracts more than 55,000 visitors every year.
